“About a month before the fight I had a very serious injury, which we thought I wouldn't be able to fight. I train very hard, I like great intensity in my training, unfortunately my training partners, they know that I always train hard. During this month, I trained well so as not to aggravate the injury and leave for good. I had a problem with my main coach (Parrumpinha) who was hospitalized, thank God he is fine now, he was able to be with me at the corner and it made a total difference in this fight. The week of the fight I still had a cold that really hit me, I came to Vegas taking syrup, medicine, I had a difficult weight cut because of that, but it wasn't a problem to make weight. All of this made the victory even stronger for me and gave me an even stronger desire to win”, said Pantoja.
