The great performance of ex-Strikeforce Pat Healy in his Ultimate debut, against Jim Miller, at UFC 159. This is because, on Tuesday night (14), the North American revealed that he was caught in the event's doping test for using marijuana. The result of the fight was reversed into a “no contest” and Healy lost the fight and submission bonuses he had earned for the night, totaling R$260.

Punished with a 90-day preventative suspension, Pat Healy released an official note on the matter. In the text, the fighter apologizes for what happened and says he accepts all the penalties imposed. Read the statement below, reproduced on the website MMA fighting:

PUBLICITY:

“I would like to start by apologizing to the UFC, the Jim Miller, the MMA community, the fans, my family, teammates and coaches for my testing positive for marijuana following my fight at UFC 159 with Jim Miller. I was fully aware of the UFC and athletic commissions' anti-drug policies and made poor choices in my life. I support efforts to make MMA a clean, safe and fair place to compete. Firstly, I would like to acknowledge and take responsibility for my mistake. I made a bad choice to socially use marijuana and now I must face the consequences of that choice. I can assure you that I will do everything the UFC and the state commission ask. Additionally, I will make a conscious effort to be a better example within the MMA community.”
