Closing the preliminary card of Bellator 265, Brazilian Fábio Aguiar faced off against Taylor Johnson in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg). The Brazilian fought an intelligent fight, showed dominance in grappling and won by split decision from the side judges (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

This was Fábio Aguiar's first victory in Bellator. The Pernambuco native had been defeated by Khalid Murtazaliev in his debut for the organization, in April this year. Now, the Brazilian has a record of 18 wins and two losses.
Taylor Johnson, in turn, lost his second in the organization and now has a record of seven wins and three losses.
THE FIGHT
The American started more aggressively, moving forward and landing a good high kick followed by a guillotine attempt that seemed to be adjusted. The Brazilian managed to defend well and reversed the position in the clinch. When they separated, Johnson applied a good sequence of knees and high kicks, but Fábio absorbed it well. In the final stretch of the round, the North American attempted a takedown, but it was the Brazilian who fell on top, leaving him in a dominant position. In the last ten seconds of the round, the two got up and Fábio connected with a good high kick.
In the second round, the Brazilian decided to dictate his own pace to the fight, moving forward and appearing more aggressive. About a minute into the round, the Brazilian took the fight to the ground. During his takedown attempt, Fábio dragged his nose against the cage railing and suffered intense bleeding at the scene. The rest of the assault took place completely on the ground, with Fábio most of the time on top.
The third round started with a bang, with both fighters engaging in frank exchanges in the first few seconds. Soon after, however, the Brazilian took advantage of the North American's imbalance and took the fight back to the ground. On the ground, the two fighters alternated positions of dominance for a while, but Fábio Aguiar quickly took control of the situation and dominated his opponent until the end of the round.
In a busy fight, Mike Hamel defeats Bryce Logan via unanimous decision
In the penultimate fight of the preliminary card of the Bellator 265, Mike Hamel and Bryce Logan had a very busy duel in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg). The first round was almost completely dominated by Hamel, who moved a lot, was more precise with his strikes, varying his punches and kicks a lot and also dominating in grappling, his specialty.
The second round began as the first ended, with Hamel completely imposing his pace on the fight and dominating the fight. In the final minute of the round, however, Logan landed a great left blow that rocked Hamel, but he was unable to capitalize.
Excited by the blow landed at the end of the second round, Bryce Logan balanced his actions in the decisive round, but did nothing that could reverse the result. After 15 minutes, victory for Mike Hamel by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
Mike Hamel won his first fight in the Bellator cage. The Arizona athlete had been defeated in his first two fights in the organization, against Adam Borics e Usman Nurmagomedov. Bryce Logan, who had lost to Georgi Karakhanyan in his debut in the circular cage, is still looking for his first victory in the organization.

In the third fight of the preliminary card, Archie Colgan and Ben Simons made their debut in the Bellator cage. Colgan bet on his wrestling ability and it didn't take long for him to put the fight down.
After remaining in a dominant position, Colgan was surprised by a rare submission attempt from Ben Simons, but he reacted quickly by throwing his opponent to the ground again. Stunned by the fall, Simons could do nothing to contain the rain of elbows imposed by Colgan, who ended up winning by technical knockout in the first round.
With the result, Archie Colgan remains undefeated in his career with three victories. Ben Simons, on the other hand, now has three wins and three defeats in his career in professional MMA.

In the second fight of the night, Duane Johnson had no difficulty beating Deven Fisher in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg). From the beginning of the fight, Johnson set the pace and put pressure on Fisher, who even reacted with good high kicks, but he couldn't do anything when Johnson took the fight to the ground and quickly found a beautiful triangle hand to finish with little more than a minute of fighting.
With victory in his first fight in the Bellator cage, Duane Johnson now has a record with six wins and just two losses. Deven Fisher, on the other hand, lost for the ninth time and only has four career wins.

In the first fight of Bellator 265, South Dakota fighter Bailey Schoenfelder took advantage of the fact that he was fighting at home and did not disappoint his fans. From the start of the fight, Schoenfelder completely dominated Kory Moegenburg and gave his opponent no chance. The home athlete was superior on the feet and on the ground, where he won by technical knockout after a series of elbows at 4:11 of the first round.
The victory was Bailey Schoenfelder's second in her undefeated career – her first in the Bellator cage. Kory Moegenburg, on the other hand, has a negative record with just one victory and now three defeats.
