Veteran Leonard Garcia already has a new home in MMA. Fired by the UFC after five consecutive defeats, the American settled with Legacy FC and is expected to debut for the new organization on July 19, at Legacy FC 21, against Rey Trujillo.

The “Bad boy”, as he is known, acknowledged, in an interview with the website MMA Junkie, that his performance led to his dismissal from the main MMA organization on the planet. “Wanting to stay in the UFC now would be a wrong choice because of the five consecutive losses. There is no way to justify this to the other fighters who are back and worked hard who were cut after one or two losses.”

Known for his exciting fights, Leonard was unable to repeat in his last stint in the UFC the good performance he had in the now-defunct WEC – where he even challenged for the featherweight belt. Garcia has won just one victory in six fights since returning to Ultimate in 2010.
