Dethroned by Rose namajunas in straws (up to 52,1kg.) in April, Weili Zhang opened the game about a factor that may have been decisive for his defeat in the UFC 261. Hardly beaten by the North American, the Chinese revealed that her injury Chris Weidman, moments before their confrontation, influenced his concentration towards defending his title.

“The athlete (Weidman), in the fight that preceded mine, who was in the same locker room as me, had his leg broken. I even touched gloves with him when he went out to fight and said 'good luck'. I saw his leg break. I felt like my mind wasn't completely focused on my duel. I wasn't focused. You can't lose focus even for a second. It's cruel,” said Zhang, in an excerpt from the documentary.My Bronze Age'.
After the incident with Chris, Weili went to the Octagon looking for his second title defense. The fighter, who had a long undefeated streak, saw her reign slipping through her fingers at the beginning of the match, when she was surprised by a high kick from Namajunas and collapsed.
Hit by the American, Zhang had no reaction. After a sequence of blows applied by Rose, the referee chose to end the dispute.
Beaten, Weili continues looking for a rematch against the North American. Ultimate, however, has not yet confirmed what the Chinese woman's next challenge will be, who was undefeated in the UFC.
Protagonist of one of the strongest images in recent MMA history, Weidman continues to recover from the injury suffered in the UFC 261. The episode recalled what Anderson Silva, in 2013, curiously in front of Chris himself.
