Marcelo Golm gains new opponent for Bellator 265

The only Brazilian representative on the main card of the Bellator 265, heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) Marcelo Golm gained a new opponent for this Friday's event (20). The Brazilian will now face off against Billy Swanson.

Swanson is the third fighter chosen to face Marcelo Golm in the Bellator 265. Before him, Steve Mowry and Kelvin Tiller had already been scheduled to face the Brazilian, but had to leave the card for undisclosed reasons.

The duel against Billy Swanson will mark Marcelo Golm's debut in the Bellator cage. The 28-year-old Brazilian had a spell in the UFC, where he debuted with a victory in 2017, but ended up being released in 2019 after three consecutive defeats. Since then, he has beaten two opponents for Taura MMA and XMMA. The Corinthians MMA and American Top Team athlete has a record of eight wins and three losses.

Like Marcelo Golm, Billy Swanson will also make his Bellator debut this Friday. At 27 years old, “Big Sexy”, as he is known, arrives at the organization on the back of three consecutive victories and with a record of four victories and just one defeat.

O Bellator 265 takes place this Friday, in South Dakota (USA) and features the main fight between veteran heavyweights Cheick Kongo and Sergei Kharitonov.
