In a big moment, Vicente Luque offers to be a 'reserve' in Usman and Covington's rematch

Current number four in the welterweight rankings, Brazilian promise makes himself available for unforeseen circumstances in a title fight at UFC 268

Living the best moment of his career, Vincent Luque is close to a future title fight at welterweight (up to 77kg.). Even though he wasn't first on the list, the Brazilian offered to be an immediate 'reserve' in the rematch between Kamaru Usman e Colby covington, valid by title, in the UFC 268. This way, the athlete could replace one of the stars, in the event of an unforeseen event on the November 6th show.

“It would be interesting (to be the substitute). Even though I'm not the official replacement, I plan to be ready. I hope nothing happens, but if it does, I hope I can go out there and save the day. Let's see”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with 'TMZ Sports'.

Current number four in the division led by Usman, Luque has been impressing with confident performances and undisputed victories. In its last performance, the Tupiniquim proved its good moment by finishing Michael chiesa in the first round.

With the triumph, Vicente officially reached the top 5 and drew praise from his boss, Dana White. After the positive result against the North American, in UFC 265, the agent stated that the fighter is now being discussed for a future title fight.

Luque's performance also caught the attention of the group's current champion, Usman. After being challenged by the Brazilian still in the octagon, the Nigerian indicated that he welcomes the duel and does not rule out facing the Brazilian soon.
