Lyoto agrees to face Gustafsson if Jones is unable to fight in 2013

With this, the Brazilian Lyoto Machida, listed as first in line on the list of challengers, revealed that he would agree to do one more fight before the duel for the title.

Ed Soares, one of Machida's managers, said he spoke with the Brazilian and he is interested in measuring up against the Swede Alexander Gustafson, second in line for the belt and Jones' favorite for the fight.

“We talked about it yesterday (Saturday) night and today (Sunday) morning, and basically, Lyoto feels that if Jon Jones is not able to fight until November or December, then Lyoto would prefer to accept the fight with Alexander Gustafson. It Jon Jones If I can fight in August or September, then Lyoto would love to fight for the title”, said Soares, in an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie.
