Couldn't Chael Sonnen once again. The controversial North American entered the octagon with great force, wearing a traditional boxer's robe, but ended up completely dominated by the champion Jon Jones, who upset the odds and knocked out a loudmouth in the main fight of UFC 159, an event that took place on Saturday night (27), in Newark, in the United States. As a result, Jones successfully defended the organization's light heavyweight belt.
Jones beats Sonnen and breaks toe
Unlike what he did in his last fights, when he had a cautious start, Jon Jones went all out Chael Sonnen. In turn, the controversial fighter was not intimidated and exchanged blows in the clinch with the champion.

However, Jones showed why he is the category champion. Surprising expectations, he attacked the legs and took Chael to the ground. On the ground, he began to land several blows against Sonnen until the referee ended the dispute.
Despite the quick victory, Jones still had a scare. As soon as he finished the fight and received the belt from the hands of Dana White, president of the UFC, Jones realized that he had broken his toe in the fight. The limb was replaced by doctors while still in the octagon, but if the fight continued, the champion would probably be forced to abandon the fight due to injury.
“I think there was a hole in the tarp. I was going to Jamaica, but I don't think I'll make it after this. We went through a lot of drama and it motivated me a lot. I really wanted to be more Chael Sonnen that Chael Sonnen, and I managed to do it. My coaches said ‘screw the talking’. He wanted to be more of a wrestler than me, and I was more of a wrestler than him. I went more Chael Sonnen that Chael Sonnen”, said the champion, not hiding that he felt a lot of pain.
As a result, Jon Jones achieved a historic record in the UFC. He equaled the record of five light heavyweight title defenses. Tito Ortiz, the organization's largest to date.
