Vanessa Porto and Ilara Joanne fought the only duel between Brazilians on the card of Bellator 263, held this Saturday (31) in the city of Los Angeles (USA). In the last preliminary fight, the Tupiniquin fighters balanced their strength and, after three rounds, Vanessa Porto won the judges' split decision (29-28, 28-29 and 29-28).

Professional since 2013, the Ceará native and representative of 'Pitbull Brothers' loses for the sixth time. She also has nine triumphs.

THE FIGHT

The fight started with an intense and frank exchange between Vanessa Porto and Ilara Joanne. Based on muay-thai, the Ceará native hit the São Paulo native with the best long-distance strikes and looked for combinations through low kicks. Porto, however, managed to react and hit a high kick that went cleanly into the face of her compatriot. Willing to 'get back', the 'Pitbull Brothers' representative threw a straight shot that rocked Vanessa and, in the final minutes, ended up on top.

Joanne landed the first, strongest blow with a high kick and continued working so that Porto didn't get any closer. However, at a disadvantage, the São Paulo native invested in the approach and fell on top. However, she left the neck and almost ended up finishing with a guillotine choke. After the pressure, Vanessa managed to get out and started working on guard strikes, but fell into the same 'trap'. Like the first time, she got out of the position again and still had time to apply hard elbows before the round ended.

Cooler, the third round was marked by the balance between Vanessa Porto and Illara Joanne. At one point, the audience even booed the fighters for their lack of action. Halfway through the round, the São Paulo native knocked down her opponent again, but she took little action and the fight was back on its feet. In the last seconds, when little was expected, Porto acted and took down his opponent. Soon after, she went to the back and tried to apply – without success – a rear naked choke.

If in September 2017 Zabit Magomedsharipov made his UFC debut, it took almost four years for his brother, Khasan Magomedsharipov, to repeat the feat to win on his Bellator debut. Rookie of the night, the Russian faced Jonathan Quiroz and beat his opponent by a technical knockout in the second round.

Now, Khasan remains undefeated and, at 20 years old, has six victories in his career, three of which are submissions, two knockouts and one fight by judge's decision. Quiroz has more setbacks than triumphs and has a record of three positive results and five negative results.

The light weight (up to 70,3kg.) Georgi Karakhanyan was not aware of Kiefer Crosbie. The North American tried to fight on the ground and managed, precisely, to land a katagatame next to the fence at the end of the first round.

At 36 years old, the experienced Karakhanyan scores his second consecutive victory in the organization. A specialist in ground fighting, the North American submitted 16 opponents in his 31 victories.

On the other hand, Crosbie made the 'three slaps' for the first time in his career. The Irishman has a record of eight positive results and three negative results.
