End of reign. In the main fight of Bellator 263, held this Saturday (31), in Los Angeles (USA), A. J. McKee made history and brutalized Patrick Pitbull. Without giving the Brazilian a chance, the North American managed a knockdown with a high kick before submitting the Brazilian in the first round. The result took AJ to the featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg). In addition to the show, the athlete also became champion of the category's GP and pocketed the sum of US$1 million (around R$5.2 million at current prices).

With the triumph, McKee defended his unbeaten career record. Now, the 26-year-old has 18 positive results in a row. In addition to the belt, the fighter will take home the prize of US$1 million (more than R$5,2 million).
Champion of the category since 2017, Pitbull failed when trying to defend his title for the sixth time. With the defeat, the Brazilian had his streak of seven victories interrupted. Patrício hasn’t known what it’s like to lose since August 2016.
The fight
The confrontation began with McKee taking the initiative with three low kicks. Pitbull responded in kind, with a blow that exploded on his opponent's right leg. The North American surprised the Brazilian with a high kick, which shook the champion. Patrício felt the blow and ended up caught with a guillotine afterwards. Noticing the condition of the Potiguar, the referee interrupted the duel.
