Nervousness at debut

In March of this season, Glorinha made her dream UFC debut. The São Paulo team, however, ended up defeated by Jinh Yu Frey, in the judges' decision. Four months after the setback, the Brazilian spoke about the sensation of her debut, admitted nervousness, but did not take away her rival's credit.

“Losing is terrible, especially in a debut. I felt a little nervous. I think that influenced it a little. But Jinh had full merit, she played the right game. I left there wanting to get back to the gym straight away to get things right in my game and I wanted to fight straight away,” she said.

Learning from defeat

At just 26 years old, Paula understands that there is still a lot to evolve as a professional in MMA. Tupiniquim then revealed important points that were corrected during the preparation for this Saturday's challenge.

“I corrected some points in my grapple, but I think the fundamental thing was the mentality. I believe that every time I enter the octagon there will be people trying to play the anti-game. So, I’m prepared for that,” she admitted.

Issues to improve

Famous for her knockout power, Glorinha spoke about aspects that need to be improved for her evolution in the sport. The Brazilian thus exposed an important detail that was brought to her training period so that she would have an advantage over her future opponents.

“Now, I'm thinking about improving my movement more, to prevent the girls from getting (close), to avoid using grappling (laughs). It’s logical that I’m improving in all areas, but my focus is on keeping the fight going,” said Paula.

Opponent analysis

This weekend, Glorinha will face an opponent who was also revealed by 'Contender' and, like the Brazilian, is looking for the first positive result in the organization. The strawweight spoke about her opponent's strengths and didn't hide her excitement for a big show.

“I thought it was an excellent fight. When I watched her debut (Cheyanne buys) in the UFC I thought it would be a great fight for me, because her game is similar to mine. She goes to fight all the time. It doesn't get tied up. I think we're going to put on a great show. I’m really excited,” she stated.

Problem facing Brazilians?

Inserted in a category that has shown the Brazilian public great representatives for the country, Paula could soon have a 'problem'. Of the 15 best ranked in the group, six defend the yellow green. The Tupiniquim then clarified whether she would have problems sharing the octagon with a compatriot. Without dodging, Glorinha was direct.

“We never like fighting Brazilians, but it’s part of the job. Once you reach the top 15, there's nowhere to run. You have to be professional and play your game, regardless of where the person is from,” he said.

Optimal outcome

In an attempt to establish her name in Ultimate once and for all, Glorinha does not hide her desire to put on a show in UFC Las Vegas 33. For this, the Brazilian knows that a victory in style would be decisive. Thus, the São Paulo native described what she intends to do to overcome her opponent.

“I definitely want to go in there and unleash my game, show who I really am. I'm going for the knockout all the time and I want to have fun. If it takes 15 minutes, I'm ready and I want to have fun. It’s the most important thing for me,” she admitted.

Message to Brazilian fans

The first Tupiniquim to step into the Octagon this weekend, Paula makes a point of calling on the Brazilian fans to follow her commitment. With a promise of excitement, the strawweight made the invitation.

“I'll be fighting in the UFC on Saturday and I'm counting on all of you to support me. I promise to represent Brazil with all my heart”, he concluded.

Athletes' history

This Saturday, Glorinha heads to her ninth clash in mixed martial arts. Today, the athlete has five triumphs and three negative results in the sport.

In MMA since 2018, Cheyanne buys, 26 years old, will make his eighth fight in the sport. The North American currently has five victories and two setbacks.
