The long-awaited fight between Jon Jones e Chael Sonnen its confirmed. On the afternoon of this Friday (26), the fighters had their last commitment before the fight valid for the light heavyweight belt: the official weigh-in. In the fight against the scales, the protagonists of the main fight passed the challenge. Among the other athletes on the card, only Nick Catone has not reached the welterweight division limit and will have two hours to lose the remaining weight.
Chael Sonnen He stood on the stage set up at the Prudential Center, in Newark, with a traditional frown and weighed exactly 93 kg. In turn, Jones exuded sympathy. He joked with the audience, threw his cap and even his sneakers to the fans. On the scale, the champion also weighed 93 kg.
During the traditional face-off, Chael looked at his rival, while Jones preferred a friendly atmosphere and lowered his head. After the photo session, the champion shook the challenger's hand.
