Not even the Brazilian Lyoto Machida or same Dan Henderson, who was very close to fighting for the light heavyweight belt. The Swede Alexander Gustafson is the champion's next intended opponent Jon Jonesif you win Chael Sonnen this Saturday (27). Jones revealed his desire in an interview promoting UFC 159.
“Gustafsson for sure. He’s someone I want to fight,” replied the title holder when asked about the name of a possible next opponent and his future plans. Jon “Bones” Jones justified his point of view by stating that he is looking forward to facing someone with the same build, height and reach.
The champion took the opportunity to poke his opponent at UFC 159, the loudmouth Chael Sonnen, when referring to Gustafsson's behavior. “He is a guy who has respect. He's a new guy. He would be a champion against a young, ambitious guy. That’s a threat, always a threat, because he’s going to want it so much,” he said.
Jon Jones defends for the fifth time the light heavyweight category title, held since 2011, against Chael Sonnen this Saturday (27). The fight, which also marks the meeting of TUF 17 coaches, is the main fight of UFC 159, which takes place in Newark (USA).

Maybe even Jones is getting excited, look what he said, he would fight against Sonnen, then another belt defense and right after the super fight before moving up to heavyweight. He's afraid of Machida, the only one who has a real chance of regaining the belt.
I also think he's in a bad mood and is going to get a shake of the lyoto...
