Rafael dos Anjos claims that Islam Makhachev agreed to face him on Fight Island in October

After defeating Thiago Moses last Saturday (17) and score his eighth consecutive victory in Ultimate, Islam makhachev must have Rafael dos Anjos as the next opponent in the organization. At least that's what the Brazilian fighter claims.

On his official Twitter profile, RDA said that he was informed by the UFC that Makhachev agreed to face him in Abu Dhabi, on October 30th. The Brazilian also stated that Khabib Nurmagomedov would agree to return from retirement in the event of his pupil's defeat.

“October 30, Islam has already accepted the fight against me in Abu Dhabi and I learned that Khabib will come back from retirement to avenge his pupil's defeat after I win,” wrote RDA.

Rafael dos Anjos was one of the three names challenged by Islam makhachev immediately after the Russian victory over Thiago Moses. The other two were Tony Ferguson e Michael chandler.

With the victory in UFC Las Vegas 31, Islam makhachev reached fifth place in the UFC lightweight ranking (up to 70,3 kg), surpassing Rafael dos Anjos, which appears in seventh position. The Brazilian has not been in action since November 2020, when he defeated Paul felder by split decision, while the Russian has already entered the octagon twice in 2021, finishing Drew dober e Thiago Moses.
