Dana reveals that McGregor suffers from 'chronic arthritis' in his ankles and casts doubt on the Irishman's future

The serious injury suffered by Conor McGregor in the main fight of UFC 264, on July 10th, continues to be one of the main topics in the world of MMA. Last Monday (19), the story gained new ingredients when Dana White revealed that Conor has been suffering from chronic arthritis in his ankles for around two years.

The Ultimate president's statement was given in an interview with Fox News channel after Conor McGregor claim that Dana and the organization's doctors were aware of minor fractures in his ankle before he entered the octagon to face Dustin poirier.

“He has had problems with his ankles for two years. He asked before the fight if he could wrap his ankle and received permission from the Nevada Athletic Commission, but chose not to do so. I do not know the reason. He has chronic arthritis in his ankles,” revealed Dana White.

Dana also stated again that Conor McGregor should remain away from the Octagon for at least a year and put the Irishman's future in MMA in question.

“It will take about a year for him to return, to recover from this injury. I don't know what his future will be, we'll see. Combat sports are tough. He cemented a giant legacy and made a lot of money, let’s see how he will return”, concluded the president.
