It was painful, but it worked. In a fight valid for the main card of UFC Las Vegas 31, held this Saturday (17), Rudolph Vieira managed to recover from the submission suffered by anthony hernandez in February this year and, with a rear naked choke, defeated Dustin Stoltzfus in the third round.

With the result, Rodolfo achieved his eighth victory – being the seventh via submission in his MMA career. The 'Black Belt Hunter' was defeated only once.
Moreover, Dustin Stoltzfus is finished for the first time in his career. The North American felt the 'bitter taste' of his third defeat in MMA. He also has 13 triumphs.
THE FIGHT
The fight began with a 'disagreement' between the combatants, as Rudolph Vieira tried to greet Dustin Stoltzfus, which he refused. The Brazilian, however, was the owner of the main hard blows in the first part of the round and hit the North American with good combinations at close range. The North American, however, managed to find his feet in the duel, developed his game and balanced the number of blows in the final stretch. In fact, Rodolfo received a hard flying knee, but managed to survive.
Willing not to give 'soup to bad luck', Rudolph Vieira preferred not to exchange with Dustin Stoltzfus and already headed for the fall. The Brazilian still managed to gain a dominant position, but he didn't develop it and saw his opponent get up. The fight remained balanced on the feet with good moments for both fighters. At one point, the American connected with a good uppercut that shook his opponent, but was unable to progress towards a knockout. In the last 30 seconds, another right came in and Dustin attempted a takedown, again without success.
In the third and final round, Rodolfo managed to take down and tried to improve his position. Dustin, however, managed to get out of position on two occasions. Still, Vieira managed to insist on the position, 'backpacked' and managed to submit Stoltfzfus with a rear-naked choke.
Mateusz Gamrot has a 'gala performance' and submits Jeremy Stephens in the first round
Pointed out, by many, as one of the great promises of the lightweight category (up to 70,3kg.), Mateusz gamrot 'left' and finished the veteran Jeremy Stephens with a kimura in the first round.
With three fights in Ultimate, Gamrot has his second triumph in the organization and the 19th in his career. He only lost once in his MMA career.
Stephens was finished after just over 12 years. Now, the veteran has a record of 28 positive results and 19 negative results.
Billy Quarantillo puts on a show, dominates Gabriel Benitez and wins again in Ultimate
In the fight that opened the main card of UFC Las Vegas 31, held this Saturday (17), a complete domain of Billy quarantillo. The North American used pressure during most of the fight and overcame Gabriel benitez, who ended the fight with a huge swelling in his left eye.
Now, Quarantillo wins again in Ultimate after having a streak of eight victories broken by Gavin tucker, in December 2020. The North American triumphed for the second time in the organization and has accumulated 15 positive results and three negative results in his career.
On the other hand, Benitez suffers his ninth career defeat. He also has 22 wins. The Mexican had triumphed in his last fight against Justin jaynes, but he was unable to extend the sequence and once again felt the 'bitter taste' of the setback.
