Judge count shows the balance in the duel between Velasquez and Kielholtz at Bellator 262

The judges' count in the main duel of Bellator 262 made it clear how balanced the fight between Juliana Velasquez and Denise Kielholtz was for the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg). Surprisingly, each of the three members marked the confrontation in a completely different way.

Judge Bryan Miner scored a victory for Denise Kielholtz, giving rounds one, four and five to the Dutchwoman. On the other hand, Marcel Varela gave a positive result for Juliana with rounds two, three and four in favor of the champion. Judge Jacob Montalvo also marked Velasquez's triumph, with rounds three, four and five being decisive for the Brazilian's maintenance of the belt.

The Brazilian fighter maintained her reign by defeating Kielholtz in a split decision from the judges. The fight marked the first title defense for the Brazilian, who became flyweight champion in December 2020 by defeating Ilima-Lei Macfarlane.
