The Brazilian Demian Maia, currently ranked fifth in the Ultimate welterweight category, has already planned his near future in the main MMA organization on the planet. At least that's what his manager, Eduardo Alonso, revealed on the “UFC Tonight” program – on North American cable TV.
According to the businessman, Demian's desire is to return to the octagon at the UFC event scheduled for August 3rd, expected to take place in Rio de Janeiro – and which should feature a fight between José Aldo e Anthony Pettis as the main fight. Also according to Alonso, the fighter from São Paulo would even have a preference for an opponent: the last challenger for the welterweight belt, Nick Diaz.
Demian Maia hasn't fought since February 2nd, when he dominated the three rounds against Jon Fitch and won by unanimous decision from the judges. Demian has a record of 18 wins and four losses. Since moving down to the welterweight category, the Brazilian has been undefeated, with three consecutive successes in the new division.
Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
