Nick Diaz speaks out after confirming his return at UFC 266

Without fighting since 2015, 'bad boy' faces Robbie Lawler on a card that takes place on September 25

Like it or not, Nick Diaz is back in MMA. Confirmed as an opponent of Robbie Lawler in one of the main fights of the UFC 266, which takes place on September 25th, the athlete spoke about the official challenge. The veteran has not performed since 2015.

“I want to thank my team, Cesar Gracie BJJ, Kevin Mubenga and Ross Goodman for making this commitment. It's time to fight. Kill or be killed,” Diaz wrote on his Twitter account.

Back in Ultimate after a hiatus of more than six years, the American wants to follow in the footsteps of his younger brother, Nate, who continues to accumulate good numbers in his performances. The duel against Lawler will mark 'bad boy' since the confrontation against Anderson SilvaIn 2015.

For the new challenge, Nick will be in his 38th fight as a professional in MMA. Today, at 37 years old, the athlete has 26 wins, nine defeats and two 'no result' matches.

Diaz's last triumph in mixed martial arts came almost 10 years ago, when he overcame B.J. Penn, at UFC 137. After that, the North American accumulated two defeats and the 'I didn't answer' in front of Silva.
