“I just want to start with a win on Saturday. I think it's very important that I achieve this triumph because I still can't look too far ahead, you know? I am someone who has short, medium and long term goals. I know there's a way I'd like it to happen in a perfect world but I know it would be difficult to pull it off,” Tate said in the 'half day' of the show.
Dreaming of a new reign, 'Cupcake' said he intends to reach a title fight in up to three fights but said the important thing is to return with victory next Saturday (17).
“If I have the performances I'm planning to have, in up to three fights I can get a title shot. But first, I just want to start with a win on Saturday and see how it goes,” concluded the American.
Former UFC bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg), Tate returns to the octagon after four years of retirement. Her last fight was in November 2016, at which time the North American was defeated by Rachel Pennington. 'Cupcake' has a record of 18 triumphs and seven setbacks in professional MMA.
