The North American Zingano cat earned the right to challenge Ronda Rousey for the UFC women's bantamweight belt. Despite the champion submitting all her opponents in the first round, Zingano's husband guarantees that he has the recipe to win the Ultimate title.
Brazilian Maurício Zingano, married to Cat and the fighter's jiu-jitsu teacher, revealed that he already studies the champion's game and is betting on the recipe to stop the champion's judo and the feared armbars.
“I and the other coaches have studied Ronda’s game a lot and we know how to deal with her judo and her armbar, we are prepared for that. It will be a tough fight, a technical fight, but we are confident that she will win. I think that Cat's striking is much superior and that Cat's ground game is also much better than Ronda's”, said Mauricio, in an interview with the Mundo da Luta radio program.
“Ronda is good at submitting, like many judokas, but I don't believe her transitions are as good as Cat's, like those in jiu-jitsu. She has a lot of fighting habits on the ground that we can take advantage of,” he added.
