After victory at UFC 264, Jennifer Maia hopes for a new title opportunity soon

The Brazilian fighter was happy with her recovery after losing to Valentina Shevchenko and dreams of a new chance to fight for the belt

After recovering from the defeat to Valentina Shevchenko No. UFC 264 last Saturday (10), Jennifer maia dreams of a new title fight soon. The Brazilian fighter liked her performance on her return to the octagon and asked for a name higher in the rankings so she could return to fight for the flyweight title (up to 56,7kg).

“Coming off a loss in the title fight, I feel like it was a really good comeback. I feel like I haven't shown everything I'm capable of yet but I'm satisfied with my performance. I don't have a specific name. I just want someone above me in the rankings, so I can have another opportunity for the title soon”, added the Brazilian.

The Brazilian stated that she prepared well for the confrontation against Jessica Eye and made it clear that the important thing was to win.

“After losing to Valentina (Shevchenko), I am very happy to get back in the win column. This means a lot for my career. I thought I could end this fight with a knockout or a submission but Jessica Eye is very experienced. She was also very well prepared and in the end I got what I wanted, which was a victory”, concluded the Brazilian.

Current number four in the flyweight rankings, Jennifer remained at the top of the flyweight division with her victory last Saturday. In Ultimate since 2018, the fighter has a record of 19 triumphs, seven setbacks and one draw.
