After overcoming one of the main names in the welterweight division (up to 77kg.) and challenging Jorge masvidal – among other names – still in the Octagon, Gilbert Durinho seems to have rethought the decision. At the press conference after the UFC 264, held this Saturday (10), in Las Vegas (USA), rejected the possibility and imposed a condition to test himself against the North American. The recent negative record of the possible rival is decisive.

“I really like the fight against Masvidal, but he is coming off two defeats. He made a lot of money, so he needs to give me an extra check to face me. I'll fight him, but put me in a main fight and it will be a crazy fight,” he said.

This weekend, Durinho fought a safe fight and managed to control the actions of one of the most dangerous athletes in the division. Acting safely, the Brazilian was superior to his opponent for three rounds and defended second place in the ranking.

Former welterweight title challenger, Gilbert shows calm when it comes to a new title fight. In recent months, UFC president Dana White has stated that he is negotiating a rematch between the champion, Kamaru Usman, and Colby covington, who had one of the best fights of 2019.
