Light weight (up to 70,3kg.) Rafael dos Anjos was available and is now the reserve fighter for the fight between Dustin poirier e Conor McGregor in the main fight of UFC 264, held this Saturday (10), in Las Vegas (USA). Although, Max Holloway could be in its place.

The former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg.) stated that he was preparing to face Yair Rodriguez No. UFC Las Vegas 31, when he suffered an injury that prevented him from continuing on the card. Furthermore, Holloway says that he also missed the chance to be a reserve on this Saturday's card, if the original fight didn't happen.
“Many of you didn't know, but (the UFC) had me as a replacement for the main event (between Poirier and McGregor). Almost nobody knew. I was going to lose weight first, weigh myself and see what happened. At the end of the day, the UFC loves to throw curveballs. One day you think you're going to fight one, but the next day you're fighting someone else”, says Holloway moments before weighing in for the UFC 264.
Coincidentally, Holloway has already faced Poirier and McGregor in his UFC career. The Hawaiian made his debut against the North American, when he was submitted in the second round, in February 2012. Then, he also lost the judges' unanimous decision to McGregor.
Seven years after its debut, the 'Blessed', as is known, had the chance to take revenge for the negative result in combat against 'Diamond' at the UFC 257, which was worth the interim lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg.). However, he suffered another setback, this time in the judges' decision.
