Run over by Francis Ngannou No. UFC 260, Stipe Miocic continues with prestige within Ultimate. Considered one of the best heavyweights (up to 120,2 kg) of all time, the American may try to regain his old belt sooner than he thought. According to the president of Ultimate, Dana White, the athlete will not even need a test first.

“Stipe needs time to recover from fights like those. I think it's the perfect scenario. You have (Derrick) Lewis, who beat (Francis) Ngannou, Cyryl Gane, who is one of the great newcomers, undefeated. They face each other for the interim heavyweight belt and the winner faces Francis. Afterwards, the winner (in the unification) will probably face Stipe”, said Dana, in an interview with 'UFC Saudi'.

In his last appearance, Miocic ended up losing the division throne in a reunion with the feared Ngannou. In the confrontation, the North American was unable to repeat the safe performance of the dispute held in 2018 and ended up falling victim to the enormous strength of the French-Cameroonian, losing with a devastating knockout in the second round.

Today, the former champion occupies first place in the ranking, behind only the title holder. Behind Miocic, Derrick Lewis e Cyryl Gane ask for passage. The 'giants' compete for the interim belt in the UFC 265.
