TUF Brasil 2: Viscardi Andrade beats Jambo once again and Werdum's team leads 3-0

the paulista Viscardi Andrade is classified for the quarterfinals of TUF Brasil 2. In the fourth episode of the reality show, shown this Sunday (07), the fighter from the Fabricio Werdum overcame the change of opponent at the last minute – due to Neílson Gomes' injury – and knocked out Thiago Jambo, who had been rescued from the tie by Rodrigo Minotauro.

This Sunday's program began with the confirmation of Yan Cabral's injury. The Werdum team athlete, who had defeated David Viera the previous week, fractured his hand in the fight and, even with a guaranteed place in the next phase of the competition, had to leave the program.

After Yan's departure, a challenge at the Interlagos race track defined who would have the right to choose the next duel. The fighters had to push the cars driven by their technicians on a 400 meter route. The victory went to the Rodrigo Minotauro.

Before choosing the next fight, Dana White, president of the UFC, spoke to the fighters via video conference and revealed that fighter Daniel Gelo, eliminated in the last phase before entering the house, would be back in the game to replace Yan Cabral. The athletes' reception to their new partner was cold.

After the leader's announcement, Minotauro selected Viscardi Andrade  from the team of Fabricio Werdum, while Neílson Gomes would be his representative in the duel.

However, a new injury haunted the TUF Brasil 2 athletes. In a game at CT, where he kicked a rubber doll with Viscardi's face, Neílson felt an old injury to his knee and had to be taken to the hospital. Viscardi thought it was marmalade, but it wasn't. The fighter from Bahia suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament.

With Neílson Gomes injured, Minotauro asked Dana White for the right to select the athlete of his choice who had been eliminated in the last stage to return home. The president responded to the request and Rodrigo brought Thiago Jambo, his pupil on Team Nogueira and who had lost precisely to Viscardi Andrade in the qualifier.

The decision did not please the athlete on the team. Fabricio Werdum. “He must have learned a lot, because he took two knockdowns in one round, gasping for air, and didn't even remember what had happened in the fight. (Minotauro) He is in control and in control of the program and chose the athlete he wanted to fight with me”, he said.

The rematch

The duel between Viscardi and Jambo began studiedly, with the Rodrigo Minotauro taking the center of the octagon and landing the best blows. In turn, Viscardi tried to keep his distance and only attack when space appeared.

In the first minute, Jambo quickly looked for Viscardi's legs and took the contest to the ground. The athlete from Werdum's team managed to recover and return to the fight on his feet.

With 30 seconds left in the first round, Viscardi connected with a left punch that shook Jambo. He took advantage of the moment, cornered his rival against the bars and with another combination of blows knocked Thiago down. Without wasting time, he landed another punch and referee Mário Yamazaki ended the dispute.

When he got up, Viscardi went towards Minotauro and, through the fence, disapproved of the coach's attitude. “This one’s for you, this one’s for you,” he repeated. Unsatisfied with the fighter's attitude, Minotauro responded. “Get it in the ass, boy! F*** you, kid,” he snapped.

with the victory of Viscardi Andrade, he joins Thiago Alves as the second athlete classified for the quarter-finals of the competition – after the forced departure of Yan Cabral. Furthermore, the team Fabricio Werdum opens 3×0 against the Rodrigo Minotauro.

Next program

In the next episode of TUF Brasil 2, two more places for the quarterfinals of the competition will be contested. And the right to choose the next confrontation will be Fabricio Werdum, who won the last fight. Furthermore, a big fight is expected before the teams, where several items from the locker room were thrown at the opponents.
