The K-1 World Max title remained at home, with many difficulties and after suffering two knockdowns, the Japanese Masato overcame Yoshihiro Sato and Artur Kyshenko to win his second title in the tournament.
In the semi-finals, Masato beat his fellow countryman Yoshihiro Sato on points, after an extra round, in a fight where he suffered a knockdown. In the other semi-final, Ukrainian Arthur Kyshenko surprised, favorite Andy Souwer winning on points. In the decision, Masato suffered another knockdown, but he was better throughout the fight and won the title after the extra round. Check out the full results:
