Video: UFC chooses six knockouts that have marked the season so far; remember the crashes

Kamaru Usman, Francis Ngannou and Edson Barboza are some of the protagonists of memorable finals in 2021

With the arrival of July, Ultimate officially reaches the halfway point of the 2021 season. With major events and the return of the public in numbered shows, the organization decided to celebrate the success in style. To excite fans, the organization selected six knockouts that marked the year so far.

Among the moments chosen by the company, three of them had a belt up for grabs. Francis Ngannou, Kamaru Usman e Rose namajunas These are highlights of the organization's best moments to date. The Brazilian highlight was due to Edson Barboza and his knockout with 'delay' applied to Shane burgos. Cory Sandhagen e Jiri Prochazka were also remembered.

Following the order of the video released (see below), the company starts with running over Francis Ngannou about Stipe Miocic, in March. In the long-awaited rematch against the then heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg), the French-Cameroonian proved, in the octagon, his evolution as a fighter and, acting confidently, scored a historic knockout in the second round, which earned him the belt of the division.

In April, a former champion retook her throne. Challenging Weili Zhang for the strawweight title (up to 52,1kg.), the North American didn't need long to prove that she is still one of the big names in women's MMA. With a surprising high kick, the athlete began the overthrow of the Chinese, who was undefeated in the UFC. The knockout happened at 1m18s.

Having a great moment in Ultimate and on the front line for a future bantamweight belt fight (up to 61,2kg.), Cory Sandhagen was also added to the list. Current number two in the ranking led by aljamain sterling, the athlete accepted the challenge of facing the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.), Frankie Edgar and put on a show. Against the veteran, the fighter had 28s. confrontation until he shocked the world with a flying knee that led to his opponent's immediate knockout.

New 'darling' of Ultimate in light heavyweight (up to 93kg.), Jiri Prochazka was also remembered by the organization. Former Rizin champion, the Czech has made his commitment to the organization worthwhile and, in his second fight for the company, he had a great test of fire against the former challenger for the division's belt, Dominick reyes. Famous for being one of the names that came closest to defeating Jon Jones, the North American ended up feeling his opponent's firepower first hand. With a searing spinning elbow, Prochazka 'erased' his opponent and took second place in the group led by Jan Blachowicz.

The only Brazilian included on the list, it is no surprise that Edson Barboza be part of the group. Famous for his aggressiveness and knockout power, the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) once again made history with a very curious run over Shane burgos. After two busy rounds, it was in the third stage that the Friborg native achieved another beautiful outcome in his career. After landing a well-aimed cross on his opponent, Edson saw his rival suffer a delayed knockout. Before collapsing, Burgos appeared to be in the confrontation, but ended up losing his balance afterwards. After action, it was up to Tupiniquim to settle the invoice.

Considered one of the biggest names in recent Ultimate history, Kamaru Usman He is definitely experiencing the best moment of his career. Welterweight champion (up to 77kg), the Nigerian showed all his versatility in the rematch against Jorge masvidal. Victorious on points in the first meeting with the North American, the leader of the under-77kg group. I wanted to give the story a new ending. Accepting his opponent's dangerous striking, Usman achieved one of the most plastic knockouts of the year, running over 'Jesus das Ruas' at the beginning of the second round.
