Thiago Pitbull wins bloody fight and wins middleweight belt at Bare Knuckle

In his second appearance in 'bare-knuckle boxing', Brazilian beats Ulysses Diaz by technical knockout and takes unprecedented title for the country

In his second appearance at Bare Knuckle FC, Thiago Pitbull There's already a belt in the house. Last weekend, in the unprecedented middleweight title fight (up to 83,9kg), held in Miami (USA), the Brazilian won a bloody battle against Ulysses Diaz and took the category title. A former UFC standout, the athlete debuted in the organization in September 2020.

Representing American Top Team (ATT), Pitbull took all his stand-up experience to the fighting field. Famous for his knockout power, Thiago didn't have an easy time facing his opponent, falling in the second round after a tough attack from Ulysses.

The third stage, however, was decisive for the outcome of the confrontation. More aggressive, the Brazilian showed sharpness in his punch sequences. Victim of attacks from Ceará, Diaz went to the canvas three times. Although he got up in every situation, the athlete was prevented from continuing in the duel, losing by technical knockout.

Former challenger for the UFC welterweight (up to 77kg) belt (in 2009), Pitbull signed a contract with Bare Knuckle after almost 15 years in the UFC. In his debut, the athlete beat Julian Lane in a split decision from the judges.

On his social networks, Thiago celebrated the achievement and shared his joy with his fans.

“Last night was very special for me and my family. I'm honored to be Bare Knuckle FC's first middleweight champion and win another belt for American Top Team. (…) My heart is full, despite the ups and downs in my career. I never strayed from my path. I accepted all my defeats and learned as much as I could to become the champion I am today”, wrote the Brazilian.
