“I woke up one day feeling good and went to the gym. There, I thought I'd do a workout and put my leg up, just to feel good in the gym, see the guys and smell the dirty mats again, which I love. So, I got there and some guys I train with were training and doing kickboxing. We started doing some exercises and a complete workout, like a circuit with push-ups and abdominal exercises. It probably took about an hour and I was on my feet the whole time, which is crazy. I think I’m getting better and better,” Chris said.

Despite progressing quickly, Weidman says he knows there is still a long way to go before his return to MMA. He, in fact, believes he can return to the top of the world and completely recover from his leg injury.

“I need to overcome a lot and I'm sure there will be some setbacks, but I'm prepared for that. Nothing will break me. I'll move on. If at the end of the day I'm in the gym and I can't do anything more than I used to, I'm not going to fight again. (But) if I think I can be the best in the world and I can do what I need to do with this leg, then I need that”, concluded the North American.

Against Hall, in UFC 261, Chris tried to confirm the good phase of his career. If he beat the Jamaican, the North American would have his second positive result in a row, something that hadn't happened in over five years. The athlete, however, ended up not having time to put his strategy into practice. Just 17 seconds into the fight, Weidman suffered the injury, which removed him from the duel.
