Michel Pereira says he can beat Usman and accuses Anthony Pettis of running away from a duel against him

In an exclusive chat with SUPER LUTAS, the Brazilian fighter spoke about various topics and sent a message to the fighters in his division

 

Brazilian representative in the welterweight division (up to 77,1kg), Michael Pereira He is a fighter who exudes confidence and sincerity. In an exclusive interview with the SUPER LUTAS YouTube channel, the Brazilian athlete stated that he can defeat the champion Kamaru Usman, accused Anthony Pettis to escape a confrontation against him and sent a direct message to his opponents in his category. Someone to defeat Kamaru Usman

Asked who would be able to take the champion's belt Kamaru Usman, Michel prepared himself for the difficult mission. Soon after, he stated that he believed that Durinho could beat the Nigerian and declared that he did not see another athlete today who could dethrone the leader of the group.

“Me, I beat him! In fact, I was betting a lot on Durinho. For me, he would be champion of the category. Apart from him, I don’t see another guy with the conditions (to beat Usman)”.

Was the rematch between Masvidal and the Nigerian fair?

The Brazilian fighter gave his opinion on the second duel between Kamaru Usman e Jorge masvidal and claimed to have agreed to the duel being married by the organization.

“I thought it was fair. We athletes know what it's like to fight without training. Fighting with the champion, without being at your peak, without being at your 'I'm ready' level is complicated. We have to take our hats off to Masvidal for accepting.”

Possible duel against Khamzat Chimaev

On the great promise of division, Khamzat Shimaev, Michel stated that he was not offered a duel against the Swede but declared that he would accept without thinking.

“I see that he is a future in the category, he is a guy that the UFC treats as a prodigy in the division. I would fight him, it would be a difficult fight but I like challenges. I wouldn't think twice. I haven’t been offered one yet, but if it happens, I’ll accept it immediately.”

Did Anthonny Pettis run away from facing him?

The Brazilian fighter stated that Ultimate even offered 'Showtime' a duel between the two but the Brazilian athlete accused the North American of faking an injury and then accepting to face another opponent on the same card.

“He was scared of me. Because the guy said he was injured so he wouldn't fight me on December 19th. Then when I went to see, he was fighting on the same card as me. Why did he refuse to fight me? Were you scared? Is it because I’m not ranked?”

MESSAGE FOR THE CATEGORY?

“I'm coming. It's a matter of time. I have 37 fights registered on 'Sherdog', if you count the ones that are not registered, I have more than 40. I have more fights than the champion of my category. At 27 years old, I've already fought more than many guys in my category. I'm not 'hanging around' in the UFC, I didn't get here for nothing. So, it's only a matter of time before I get to 'heads'. They know I'm going to arrive and many don't want to fight me but at some point they will have to face me.”

Hired in 2019 by the organization, Michael Pereira will be in his sixth fight in the most famous octagon in the world. The Brazilian athlete has been encouraged by two positive results in a row against Zelim Imadaev and Khaos Willians. The Brazilian's next duel will be against Niko Price No. UFC 264, scheduled for July 10th in Las Vegas (USA). The fighter has a record of 25 triumphs and 11 setbacks.
