Cigano promises: 'The belt will be mine by the end of the year'

Brazilian is willing to spend less than a year without the UFC heavyweight title

junior gypsy lost the UFC heavyweight belt after being defeated by Cain Velazquez in edition number 155 of the show, in December 2012. But the Brazilian is willing to spend less than a year without the title of champion.

In a chat with fans on the UFC website, this Wednesday (20), the fighter from Santa Catarina revealed that he is willing to regain the belt in 2013. “Guys, thank you very much for your support, and the belt will be mine until end of the year, trust me”, said Cigano.

de Cigano's first challenge after losing the title would be against  alistair overeem, at UFC 160, in May, but the Dutchman was injured and ended up being replaced by Mark Hunt. For the Brazilian, his new opponent is tougher than his previous rival. “He (Hunt) has more skills and hits harder (than Overeem),” replied Cigano.
