The welterweight belt (up to 77,1kg) now has a European passport. With an impeccable game in grappling, Ukrainian Yaroslav Amosov defeated the Brazilian Douglas lima for five rounds and won by unanimous decision from the judges. The duel was the main attraction of Bellator 260. The show took place this Friday (11) in Uncasville, Connecticut (USA).

The main fight of the night began with the two athletes respecting each other and exchanging few blows. Douglas tried to get closer while Amosov was more restrained and just responded to the Brazilian's blows. Halfway through the round, the Ukrainian took the Brazilian down and punched over the champion's guard. The 'Dynamo' dominated the 'Fenômeno' from above and attacked with punches and elbows.
Upon returning from the first break, after a few more tepid minutes, Amosov soon put the Brazilian on the ground again. With his back on the ground, Lima had a lot of difficulty defending himself and even getting out of a bad position. The Ukrainian took advantage of the situation to hit Douglas' ribs and continue scoring and winning the round. 'Dynamo' ended the round again by nullifying the Brazilian fighter.
In the third round, Douglas had difficulties in the long distance and was unable to get close to the Ukrainian. Halfway through the round, Amosov used his efficient takedown game and took the Brazilian down again. The European fighter continued with his game of passing the guard and striking from mount, the Tupiniquim seemed unable to find an antidote to Yaroslav's strategy.
Yaroslav continued with his strategy of grabbing like a 'tick' and even with Lima resisting a lot, the Ukrainian managed to put the duel down. The European put pressure on the Brazilian and didn't even let him think of a way out. The Tupiniquim finished another round being nullified from start to finish by Amosov.
In the final stage, five more minutes of the Ukrainian's monologue. Without the strength to react, Lima was easily put down again and was dominated by the Ukrainian who scored with every blow to his fallen opponent. In the final minute, the Tupiniquim tried a submission but was unsuccessful.
With the defeat, the Brazilian loses his welterweight belt for the second time, suffers his second setback in a row and will have to start over again if he wants to have another reign. The fighter now has a record of 32 triumphs and nine negative results in his career.
The Ukrainian still doesn't know what defeat means in his career. A professional since 2012, Amosov now has a record of 26 mixed martial arts triumphs.

The fight that opened the main part of the show began with Jackson putting Lemminger down but without landing any submission or hard blow. After managing to free himself, the tables turned and Mark began to dominate the fight. At the beginning of the second round, Lemminger landed an upper on his opponent who fell into a position on all fours. After a sequence of blows, the referee stopped the fight.
With the victory, Mark broke his streak of two consecutive victories and achieved his first positive result in the organization. Now, the 28-year-old fighter has a record of 12 triumphs and three setbacks. On the other hand, Jackson suffers his second consecutive setback and now boasts a record of 11 wins and four negative results.
