Nate Diaz says he will fight for the welterweight belt even if he loses to Edwards at UFC 263

Even with Dana White guarantees the welterweight (under 77,1kg) title fight for the winner of Leon Edwards x Nate Diaz, the 'Bad Boy' has a slightly different opinion. The veteran believes he will be able to fight for the category title even if he is defeated in the UFC 263 next Saturday (12). The statement was given in an interview with the magazine 'Rolling Stone'.

“I don't care if I lose, I know I'll fight for the title no matter what. My plan here is to win and then we’ll see who my next opponent will be,” said Diaz.

After more than a year away from professional fights, Nate praised Edwards and explained his reasons for accepting the fight against the English fighter.

“He's a great fighter and has beaten everyone, so why wouldn't I fight the best guy? I think it's impressive when someone manages to win so many times in a row in Ultimate”, concluded Nate.
