Heavy weight (up to 120,2kg.) Renan Problem questioned the fight choices in the next round of the PFL. After the organization announced the next fights for the Grand Prix, which will take place on June 25th in New Jersey (USA), the Brazilian criticized the company's choice to match him against Ali Isaev. Additionally, he stated that a rematch against Fabricio Werdum – which now faces Brandon Sayles – was what the fans would like to see.

“This is all very strange. Ray Sefo told my team that the Werdum rematch was the fight that made sense next. The PFL posted on social media asking people if they wanted to see it and they said yes. Now we discovered on social media that I will face the last champion, while Werdum faces Sayles”, stated 'Problema' in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.
In the first fight, Renan Problem knocked out Fabricio Werdum, but the fight was reverted to 'no contest' by the New Jersey Athletic Commission. At the time, there was confusion regarding an alleged withdrawal – not considered by the referee – by the Goiás native in a triangle applied by the former UFC fighter. For Renan, he even had a certain 'protection' from the PFL with the veteran in the first fight between the two and promises to beat him again in the future.
“I find it interesting how all this is happening. They interviewed Werdum after our fight, but they didn't interview me. They just showed the slow motion replay that looked like I crashed. After that, the Commission changed the outcome of our fight over the weekend in a decision so quick that many people questioned their procedure. What are their criteria? We have no idea how matchmaking works here, but some things seem a little fishy. (…) They won't be able to protect Werdum forever. I would be embarrassed to be in his shoes after all the shit he said after our fight. I would call the PFL to make the rematch happen. But he knows it’s going to end again, he doesn’t want anything to do with me”, added the fighter.
After knocking out Fabricio Werdum, Renan Problem had achieved six points in the general heavyweight classification. However, with the 'I didn't answer', both fighters have one point and need to win to continue in the tournament. The Goiano player faces Ali Isaev, while the Gaucho faces off against Brandon Sayles.
