“I just did a strength session on the bike. I'll confess, it was uncomfortable. I don't know if it's the cold air in Australia, because it's freezing here. We came from Las Vegas, which was very hot. (…) I don’t know if it’s because of Covid-19 or the cold weather. It finished me off,” said the champion.
One of the millions infected by the disease caused by the coronavirus, Volkanovski ended up having his second title defense canceled due to the illness. The Australian would make the long-awaited clash against Brian ortega No. UFC 260, but was removed from the event.
Now, Alexander continues to prepare to put his title on the line once again. The clash against the North American, however, does not yet have an official date. Recently, the featherweight leader admitted that the battle could be promoted in September.
Standouts in the under-65,7kg category, Volkanovski and Ortega will be the main stars of the new edition of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). The reality show returns with the athletes taking the lead and will start in June.
