Former fighter and now commentator, Daniel Cormier seems to have formed his opinion about the current moment in his career Tony Ferguson. Analyzing the situation of 'Bicho Papão', which lost its third consecutive UFC 262, the former double Ultimate champion is not optimistic about his compatriot's recovery. In an interview at his podcast, DC spoke on the subject.

"Tony Ferguson, as a high level MMA athlete, I believe it is over. Don't get it wrong, he's not losing to fools. He’s facing the best of the best, but these are matchups that Ferguson used to win,” Cormier said.
Observing Tony's latest performances closely, Daniel continued to evaluate the 'Bicho Papão's' poor performances. For the veteran, the way his compatriot has been beaten says a lot about the future in the organization and the sport.
“He is not only losing, but he has been dominated. Now (after losing to Beneil Dariush), he lost 11 consecutive rounds and didn't look competitive. I think Tony needs to take a step back and his level of competition needs to drop and then see what happens,” he concluded.
Former interim UFC champion, Ferguson has not won a match since 2019. His last positive result came in the meeting with Donald Cerrone, UFC 238.
