Video: Barboza's 'delayed effect' knockout marks the opening of the main card at UFC 262

In a frank stand-up fight, a Brazilian delivers a well-aimed blow, but the North American takes about six seconds to attack

Showing all his aggression known to MMA fans, Edson Barboza won another victory in his best style: the knockout. What caught your attention in the fight that opened the main card of the UFC 262, held this Saturday (15), was the way in which the outcome was triggered. After an intense exchange of blows, the Friborg native connected with a clean cross to the North American's face, but the Brazilian's rival attacked about six seconds after the attack.

In the action (see below), which took place in the last round, Burgos, at first, did not seem to have felt the power of the Brazilian's attack. Moments later, however, the American staggered and ended up falling.

Upon noticing Shane's situation, the Brazilian attacked his opponent, who was on the ground. After a few more attacks, the referee chose to interrupt the confrontation, declaring Edson's victory.

With the triumph, Barboza took an important step forward in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg). Confirming the good phase, the Friburgo native should now take ninth place in the group led by Alexander Volkanovsky.
