With just over a day to go until his first title fight in Ultimate, Charles of the Bronx received heavy support. Opponent of Michael chandler in the clash for the lightweight title (up to 70,3kg.) in UFC 262, this Saturday (15), the São Paulo native received advice from Patrick Pitbull, executioner of the North American in Bellator. Legend of the competitor, the native of Rio Grande do Norte illustrated the scenario for Brazil to emerge victorious this weekend.

“It's exactly not letting him (Chandler) feel his game. That's what I did. You have to frustrate him right at the beginning of the fight. If there's space, if you run to the railing like Dan Hooker did, that's what he wants. When he exchanged forces with Michael, in 2019, Patrício was looking for his second belt in Bellator. Facing one of the organization's greatest legends, the Brazilian took no notice of his rival and emerged victorious with a knockout after just over a minute.
After the loss to Patrício, Michael had two more fights in the organization chaired by Scott Coker and, subsequently, chose not to renew his contract. Months later, the North American answered Ultimate's call and joined the company.
In its debut, at UFC 257, Chandler won and convinced. Before Dan Hooker, the athlete scored a knockout in the first round and earned the right to fight for the vacant division title.
Having been in the UFC for over 10 years, Do Bronx will have his first opportunity to fight for a belt in the company. The Brazilian is enjoying a great moment in his career, with eight positive results in a row.
The winner of the main fight of the UFC 262 will make history in Ultimate. The ‘king’ will take over the post left by the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov, retired since October 2020.
