Former Ultimate heavyweight fighter, Dmitriy Sosnovsky, was sentenced to eight years and six months in prison for the crime of extortion through kidnapping, in Moscow (RUS). According to the lawsuit, the defendant and four other accomplices kidnapped a businessman, forcibly taking him to an office. The information was released by Russian News Agency 'TASS'.

The case occurred in November 2019. There, they allegedly collected a debt of around 400 thousand rubles (around 29 thousand reais, at current exchange rates) and made threats of murder. The victim later managed to escape and recognized the kidnappers.
One year and six months after the incident, the court announced the conviction of those involved in the crime.
“The court sentenced Mamatkulov to nine years and six months in prison, Sosnovsky and Gladkov to eight years and six months in prison,” said the head of the press service of the capital's prosecutor's office, Lyudmila Nefedova.
Sosnovskiy, 31, is undefeated in his professional mixed martial arts career. Debuting in the sport in October 2012, the fighter made his first appearance for the UFC in March 2018. On that occasion, the Russian defeated Mark Godbeer via submission in the second round in a fight valid for the UFC London. In 11 victories in his career as a professional fighter, Dmitriy has six knockouts, three submissions and one victory on points.
