Another Brazilian should have his participation confirmed in UFC on FX 8, which will take place in the city of Jaraguá do Sul (SC). According to the Tatame portal, the fight between flyweight John Lineker and Russian Azamat Gashimov is scheduled to take place at the event, scheduled for May 18th.
John Lineker, from Paraná, is currently ranked ninth in the flyweight category according to the official Ultimate rankings. The fighter has 26 fights as a professional, with 20 wins and six losses. In his last appearance in the octagon, he beat Japanese Yasuhiro Urushitani, at UFC China, in November last year.
His opponent, Azamat Gashimov, is just 22 years old and has nine fights as a professional – of which he won seven and lost two. The Russian's last fight was also his Ultimate debut. Gashimov was defeated by Ivan Menjivar at UFC 154 on November 17, 2012.
