The fight between Lyoto Machida e Dan Henderson did not excite the public who watched UFC 157, this Saturday (23). In a fight with a lot of strategy and little action, the Brazilian was declared the winner in a split decision by the judges. The result was announced to boos from fans who did not agree with the decision. But, even with the cautious performance of the Brazilian athlete, the president of the organization, Dana White reaffirmed that Machida will be the next challenger for the light heavyweight belt, as he had promised on the eve of the duel.

“It was a difficult fight to judge. Lyoto escaped two bombs from Henderson in the first round, but I think it would really give (the victory) to him”, said White, during the press conference after the event. “Now he is the number one challenger. It wasn't the most exciting fight in history, but, anyway, he's the next light heavyweight challenger”, added the director.

PUBLICITY:

The light heavyweight belt is in the possession of the American Jon Jones, which will put his reign at stake against his compatriot Chael Sonnen at UFC 159, April 27th. If the organization does not change its plans, Machida should face the winner of this fight in the second half of 2013.

Lyoto really deserves to be the next challenger but it would also be nice if he faced the winner of Gustafson x Mousasi first.

I think it's incredible that ZÉ GALINHA from Sonnen comes to talk about the possibility of fighting Lyotto...

You will be beaten by Jon Jones as if he were a defenseless child.

Of course he doesn't want to fight Lyoto... he's already been beaten by all the Brazilians (I think 5).. and if he fights Lyoto will hit this gay guy a lot in the mouth...
