After his victory over Luke Saunders in the UFC Las Vegas 25, Felipe Cabocão paid tribute to his mother who faces an even more complicated struggle. With Dona Graciete fighting a battle against cancer in a gland near her mouth, the Brazilian stated that he was inspired by his mother's strength to win the fight and that he will now dedicate himself 100% to her recovery.

“Mom, I want to say that you were very motivational for me. Everything you are going through has given me the strength to overcome and now we will be close enough so I can give you a hug and tell you how much I love you. Thank you!” said the Brazilian in an interview with 'Combate'.
The Brazilian stated that he thought of his mother during the fight and that he used Dona Graciete's battle with cancer as inspiration to emerge victorious.
“At one point during the fight I thought about her and how much I needed to win, so my mother was a good motivation today. Now I need to go home and give her a hug and help her with her treatment. I thank the UFC for all the support”, concluded Cabocão.
With a record of 10 wins and two losses, Felipe Cabocão recovered from the setback suffered in his last combat, to Montel Jackson in January 2020. Hired by Ultimate in 2019, the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) has already had four fights with two victories and two negative results.
