The fans of Nick Diaz have plenty of reasons to celebrate. MMA veteran, former champion of strike force negotiating a fight for his return to the UFC. However, anyone who thinks that the 'bad boy' will face the company's new pupil, Khamzat Shimaev. In an interview with 'ESPN', the North American's manager, Kevin Mubenga, ruled out the Swede as being responsible for giving the 'welcome' to the client.

“He’s a good prospect, but with all due respect, he hasn’t earned the right to a superfight against Nick Diaz. So let's put these rumors to rest once and for all. Nate (Diaz) is our priority, after all, he fights first. With Nick, we will filter out opponents who deserve more after the Nate fight,” he stated.
At 37 years old, Nick hasn't stepped into the Octagon to fight since 2015, when he fought against Anderson Silva. The North American's last victory came in 2011, in the triumph against B.J. Penn.
A professional in MMA since 2011, Diaz has an uneven record with the Ultimate gloves. In all, the 'bad boy' performed four times in the company, winning once, losing twice and with a 'I didn't answer'.
Today, Nick boasts a record with 37 challenges. The fighter has 26 triumphs, nine setbacks and two unsuccessful fights.
Considered one of the UFC's biggest bets for the future, Chimaev is undefeated as a professional in mixed martial arts. With nine consecutive victories, the Swede has been impressing with his ability to overcome opponents with ease. Recently, the fighter recovered from the consequences of Covid-19 and is preparing his return to the Octagon.
