The victory of Ronda Rousey over Liz Carmouche at UFC 157, again submitting with an armbar in the first round, quickly became one of the most talked about topics on social media. One of the biggest names in Brazilian MMA, the welterweight Demian Maia, talked about the first female fight in the history of Ultimate on her official profile on Twitter.
The São Paulo native, five-time world jiu-jitsu champion and one of the main names in ground fighting within the organization, praised the champion of the women's bantamweight category and joked about the way the fight ended. "Congratulations Ronda Rousey! I need to learn these armbars. Great technique”, published Demian.
