With the right to emotion and suffering, Lyoto Machida guaranteed the chance to fight again for the UFC light heavyweight belt. In the second most important fight of UFC 157, an event held this Saturday (23), in Anaheim, in the United States, the Brazilian defeated Dan Henderson in the split decision of the judges in a decision highly contested by the public present at the Honda Center.

The show's fight program featured another Brazilian in action. On the preliminary card, Yuri Villefort, who was making his UFC debut, ended up defeating Nah-Shon Burrell

The fight between Lyoto Machida e Dan Henderson started studying. The North American took the initiative, landing some low kicks, but without force. In turn, the Brazilian was waiting for the best moment to counterattack. The first round passed without much emotion, but with Hendo always moving forward.

In the second round, Machida opened the game and scored points by applying combinations of punches and high kicks. Henderson followed the same strategy as in the previous session and always moved forward, releasing a very dangerous right punch. However, this time, the blows always stopped in Lyoto's guard.

In the third half, the duel followed the same path: Hendo's attacks went empty and Lyoto hit the counterattack. But after a kick applied by the Brazilian, he ended up being knocked down and spent a good part of the round on the bottom in the ground fight.

With two minutes left in the fight, Machida managed to get up and return to the fight on his feet. With a disadvantage on the scoreboard, the Brazilian opened his arsenal of kicks and combined blows to the North American's thigh and face.

At the end of 15 minutes of competition, victory for Lyoto Machida in the judges' split decision (29×28, 28×29, 29×28).

Faber finishes and eliminates the risk of dismissal

With the series of dismissals in the UFC, the name of Urijah faber was threatened with being cut off in the event of a setback this Saturday. Coming from two defeats in his last three fights, the “California Kid”, as he is known, dispelled the rumors in style. In the fight against Salvadoran Ivan Menjivar, Faber went all out and looked for the takedown, but ended up falling on the bottom. However, in a quick movement, Urijah managed to reverse the position and come out on top in the ground fight.

After Menjivar tried to apply two strong pedal strokes, Faber ended the dispute with a beautiful blow. In sensational fashion, the North American gains his back and locks in a rear-naked choke with his opponent standing.

Yuri Villefort loses in UFC debut

The first Brazilian to enter the Octagon, Yuri Villefort did not have the UFC debut he expected. Facing Nah-Shon Burrell, the Brazilian started the fight. In his first movements, the Tupiniquim athlete closed the distance and managed a takedown. On the ground, Yuri quickly got to his back and almost submitted him with a rear naked choke. But the American managed to recover and return to the fight on his feet.

Better at striking, Burrell landed the best blows and even knocked the Brazilian down in the second round. However, confident in his fists, the North American ordered Yuri to get up and the dispute continued.

In the third round, Yuri once again managed to take down his rival and was close to finishing the dispute. First with a rear naked choke, which was well defended. Soon after, he went for a heel hook, which was in place, but with a series of punches to Villefort's face, the North American managed to relieve the pressure and bleed the Brazilian.

At the end of 15 minutes of competition, Nah-Shon Burrell won the unanimous decision of the judges (30×27, 29×28, 29×28)
