After a winning debut, MacDonald celebrates his performance and projects a clash with the current champion in the PFL

After debuting in the organization, the Canadian is already thinking about his future and is looking at a possible duel against Ray Cooper III

After winning and convincing in his PFL debut (Professional Fighters League), Rory McDonald is already planning its next steps in the organization. Executioner of Curtis Millender last Thursday (29), the Canadian said he was happy with his performance in the fight and is already planning a fight against Ray Cooper III, last champion of the welterweight tournament (under 77,1kg).

“This (the victory) makes everything worth it. I worked hard in 2020, it was a year of many sacrifices so it was gratifying to have performed well that night”, said the 'red king' in an interview after the show.

Asked about a possible duel with Ray Cooper III, Rory declared that he is interested in facing the current welterweight champion and stated that he has no doubt that this fight will happen.

“Yes, I am interested (in fighting Ray Cooper). Obviously, he's the champion and I'd like to face him. I'm sure we'll cross paths”, concluded the former Bellator champion.

With the first round submission over Millender, Rory McDonald scored six points in the category tournament. The Canadian returns to the Decagon on June 17 in the second round of the regular season. The fighter now has a record of 22 wins and six losses in MMA.
