At the press conference after UFC-88, the organization's president, Dana White confirmed Rashad evans, who defeated Chuck Liddell by knockout, as the new challenger for the UFC light heavyweight title, which is in the hands of Forrest griffin.
There is no confirmed date for the event yet, but it is likely to take place on December 27th, at UFC-92
