The UFC 158 fight program is complete again. Veteran Nate Marquardt was scheduled to close the card and face Jake ellenberger at the event, which takes place on March 16, in Montreal, Canada.
Last Monday night (18), the Canadian Rory McDonald suffered an injury during training and will not be able to face Carlos Condit. As a result, several changes to the card took place. John hendricks, who would face Ellenberger, was moved to face Condit, leaving the Danish athlete without an opponent. But the show's organizers acted quickly and called up Marquardt to compete.
Marquardt returns to the UFC after a controversial dismissal. After failing medical exams leading up to UFC Live 4 in June 2011, he was removed from the contest against Rick Story the day before the fight. After the cut, Nate joined Strikeforce, where he moved down to welterweight, and went on to win the organization's title. He has an MMA record of 32 wins and 11 losses.
